When we were on Kauai ages ago, Tony and I happened upon a roadside stand selling cookies as a school fundraiser. We always stop for cookies. For $1.50 we received a plate of several freshly baked macadamia cookies and -- an extra bonus that moment -- a star fruit, sliced up just for us. It tasted something like a cross between jicama, pear and pineapple to me; perfectly delicious.
