The TJ"s croissants really are good. A couple years ago, for my husband's birthday, I undertook to make croissants from scratch. I was inspired by the King Arthur cookbook, where the recipe begins, "If you can fold an envelope, you can make croissant." Well, I can fold an envelope, and I can (thanks to my mom's example) generally manage to make pastry without it getting too leaden, but this was a project and a half! Ultimately, it's not terribly complicated to make croissant; it kind of is just folding, over and over, with long rests -- for the pastry, not the baker-- in the refrigerator, but it does take hours and therefore plenty of advance planning. I may start keeping a box of TJ's in my freezer, too.

I LOVE TJs Choc Crossiants! IT is amazing that they are so easy and still taste REALLY good! I am glad that the box is very small and you must hunt for them in the store...otherwise....I would have them waay too many times! That last photo gets my mouth watering. Mmmmmm.

I'm so glad that you like them too and I'm not totally delusional in thinking they're lovely! Thanks for reading!

Our family had a full (all 13 of us!) family gathering at Christmas, and thanks to one of our members who was there, and who's TJ's wasn't sold out, as mine was, we got enough TJ's Frozen Croissants to have a fantastic breakfast on Christmas morning. Ah nostalgia! Great to read how you capitalized on your memories for your kids!
